Joshua W. Walters, Esq.

Joshua W. Walters, Esq.

Joshua W. Walters, Esq. is an associate attorney at the Davis Law Firm. Since being admitted to the Florida Bar, Joshua’s primary areas of practice have been insurance coverage and business litigation. He believes in frequent client communication to produce customized case strategies, personalized recommendations, and effective results.

Joshua grew up in Central Florida and attended the University of Florida for his undergraduate studies. He became a member of The Kappa Sigma Fraternity in which he participated in Dance Marathon, a charity benefitting the Children’s Miracle Network. While in undergrad, Joshua also tried out for and made the University of Florida Cheerleading Team. He was chosen for initiation into the Order of Omega, an organization that selects only the top 3% of all University of Florida Greeks for membership. Joshua was also inducted into Golden Key International Society, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and Delta Epsilon Iota Academic Honor Society.

After undergrad, Joshua interned at a law firm with partners of diverse specialties. This exposed to him to various types of clients, legal issues, and partner schedules. From there, he interned for the Honorable George W. Maxwell III of the 18th Judicial Circuit of Florida. This internship gave him an early start on legal research, writing, and analysis. Lastly, Joshua worked on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. for U.S. Congressman Bill Posey. In that role, Joshua worked his way up from constituent services on a local level to working on health care and veteran affairs legislation on the national level. These three legal experiences inspired him to consider a legal career.

Joshua returned to Gainesville to attend the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law. During law school, he was tapped into Florida Blue Key–Florida’s oldest and most prestigious leadership honorary. He served as a General Board Member for the Journal of Technology Law and Policy, competed at UCLA for a National Native American Law Student Association moot court competition, and was a Trial Practice Teaching Assistant. Joshua served as a Board Member for the North Central Florida Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and was a pupil in the James C. Adkins, Jr. American Inns of Court. For part of his 1L summer, he studied abroad at Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany where he learned comparative law and took a German language course. Upon graduation, he was awarded the Pro Bono Certificate of Outstanding Achievement for completing over 105 hours of pro bono work during his time in law school, as well as UF Law’s Intellectual Property Law Certificate.

In his free time, Joshua enjoys attending Florida Gator football games and networking events. He likes to stay physically active, try different foods, and travel to new places both domestic and abroad. Joshua hopes to run for elected office one day after getting significant legal experience under his belt.

He is admitted to practice in all state courts in Florida, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Joshua is an active member of the Jacksonville Bar Association, the Jacksonville chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and the Jacksonville Bar Association Young Lawyers Section. Joshua plans on sitting for the Georgia Bar in the future.
